Nulltjärnsrundan

A gentle walk with places to picnic and bathe

Start at the Naturum visitor centre, cross the road and the meadow, and then turn right towards Stensdalen and Vålåstugorna. After just one kilometre there’s a picnic table with views towards Lillstensdalsfjället. The route continues through beautiful mixed forest. At Buråsen, turn right toward Nulltjärnarna. The path winds through the old-growth forest to Nulltjärnsbäcken, where there are the ruins of an old sawmill. Turn left and walk through a magical ravine.

The long sandy beach by the biggest of the Nulltjärn lakes is a great bathing spot. You can test your luck if you have a fishing permit, or you could decide to barbecue some sausages by the wind shelter instead. The route continues a short way on the path towards Kyrkstenen, before you turn right and walk along the mountain station’s 10 km trail. The rest of the route is a pleasant walk in the forest back to Vålådalen.
